Mike Hrabal (Republican Party) is a judge of the Tarrant County Court at Law No. 3 in Texas. He assumed office in 2010. His current term ends on December 31, 2026.

Hrabal (Republican Party) won re-election for judge of the Tarrant County Court at Law No. 3 in Texas outright after the general election on November 8, 2022, was canceled.

Biography

Hrabal earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Texas at Arlington. He went on to receive his J.D. from the Texas Tech School of Law. He was licensed to practice law in 1988. Prior to his judicial election in 2010, Hrabal practiced civil law for over 20 years.[1]

Judges of the county courts are elected in partisan elections by the county they serve and serve four-year terms, with vacancies filled by a vote of the county commissioners.[5]

Qualifications
To serve on a county court, a judge must:[5]

  • be at least 25 years old;

  • have practiced law or served as a judge for at least four years preceding the election.

Mike believes the Constitution clearly defines the role of judges as deciding disputes, not making law. He adheres to an originalist interpretation of the Constitution and believes that the Legislature was created to reflect the will of the people in passing laws.
