Ridgeway earned her BA in History/Political Science from William Woods and Westminster College in 1978. She then received her JD from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, in 1981.
Ridgeway was an attorney for Landmark Legal Foundation from 1981 to 1986. She was also an Associate for Wilkins and Millin from 1986 to 1987. She has been an attorney for Ridgeway Law Office since 1987.
Ridgeway served in the Missouri State House of Representatives from 1992 to 2000. From 1995 to 1999 she was House Assistant Minority Whip.
Ridgeway has a husband, Richard.
