Ballot title
The ballot title for Temporary Override Levy for Environmental Services was as follows:
| “ | Shall the city of Boise City, Idaho, protect clean water and the Boise River, manage land to reduce wildfire risk, protect open space and wildlife habitat, and provide parks and pathways through the establishment of a fund from a temporary override levy enabling the purchase of property and improvement projects throughout the city? All levy funds must be spent solely on the benefits listed above, not on administrative costs. Funds will be subject to an annual independent audit. The levy will raise the amount of five and one-half million dollars each year for two years, commencing with the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2028. If approved, the final amount to be collected through this levy is eleven million dollars and zero cents. The estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer of the proposed levy, based on the current date above, is a tax of $9.89 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value per year, based on current conditions. The levy will be assessed for two years. | ” |
