Education
Black received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Arizona State University in 1978. After working for two years in Chicago and becoming a certified public accountant, he enrolled at the University of Illinois College of Law. He earned his J.D. in 1983.[5]
Career
Black began his legal career in private practice in Chicago. In 1985, he moved to Tampa, Florida to join the law firm Macfarlane Ferguson. He became a partner of this firm in 1988. In 1992, he left to co-found the firm Black & Jung, P.A. He left that firm in 2000 and was a sole practitioner until his appointment to the Florida 13th Circuit Court in 2002. He served on this court until his appointment to the District Court of Appeals in 2010.[5]
