Carlton D. Jones
Carlton D. Jones is an officeholder of the Arkansas 8th Judicial Circuit South.
Jones ran in a special election for the Position 2 judge of the Arkansas Supreme Court. He lost in the special general election on March 5, 2024.
He was the first Black circuit judge of the Eighth Circuit South.[1]
Biography
Jones began his legal career as an attorney for the East Arkansas Legal Services in Helena, Arkansas. In December 1989, he took the role of a deputy prosecuting attorney for the Eighth Judicial District. He served in that role until his 2014 election to the Eighth Circuit South.[2][3]
