Charles "Duke" Lineberry was a 2014 judicial candidate for the 5th Judicial District in North Carolina.[1]

Lineberry ran for election to the 5th Judicial District.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Melinda H. Crouch.

Judicial performance evaluation
In July 2014, the North Carolina Bar Association released the results of a survey in which it asked lawyers to rate the judicial candidates for the trial courts. The candidates were rated from one to five on five different criteria as well as on their overall performance.[3]

Education
Lineberry received his undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in 1980 and his J.D. degree from Campbell School of Law in 1985.[4]
Career
Lineberry is an attorney in private practice. He began his legal career in 1985, prosecuting traffic and misdemeanor cases while finishing law school. The then worked as both a private practice and court-appointed defense attorney. He also worked with juvenile cases. Around the year 2000, he became a state arbitrator and family law mediator.
Lineberry stated in campaign materials that the majority of his career was focused on "child custody and support, post-separation support and alimony, equitable distribution, divorce and other family related matters."[4]
