I’m Dale Hunt, and I’ve proudly served as Alderman in the Village of Alamance since 2021. My background is in science and business, but my passion is public service. I ran for office because I believe small-town government should be about problem-solving, not posturing. I bring a data-driven, common-sense approach to the Board, and I don’t speak in circles—just the facts, clearly stated.

I’ve helped lead efforts to make our meetings more transparent, our spending more accountable, and our recreation opportunities more community-driven. Whether it’s traffic safety, preserving our history, or exploring grants for future needs, I believe in doing the homework first and doing more listening than talking.

I’m not perfect—but I’m honest. And I don’t make promises I can’t keep. What you will get is straight talk, hard work, and someone who’s not afraid to admit what he doesn’t know—as long as we trust the right experts to help us get it right.

I hope to earn your support again. Let’s keep making progress, together.
  • Accountability in Government Spending - Every tax dollar matters. I push for clear-eyed decisions based on data, not drama.
  • Community-Driven Recreation and Development - From parks to picnic shelters, I believe in listening to residents and building what you want—not what politicians assume you want.
  • Honest, Transparent Leadership - No spin, no fluff—just the truth.
Responsible and well-informed Village spending with low taxation, community recreation and livability, historical preservation and local identity, traffic safety and infrastructure.
First, the ability to listen—both to constituents and to the experts you've hired or entrusted to advise you.

Second, the ability to govern without grandstanding. Not everything has to be a show.

Third, self-awareness. No one has all the answers all the time. As Clint Eastwood’s character said in Magnum Force: “A man’s got to know his limitations.”

Fourth, the understanding that the cheapest option isn’t always the best one. Value and sustainability matter.
Representing the community with honesty and integrity; communicating clearly and directly, without spin or fluff; making informed decisions in the best interest of all residents; listening actively to constituents and experts alike; approaching the role with humility — knowing you don't have all the answers, but willing to find them.
I think it is important that holders of the office have at least a basic understanding of what municipal government is all about. A general philosophy based on knowledge gained from observation on the federal and state level through the news does not prepare you for serving at the municipal level.
Common sense, ability to reach acceptable compromise where core values are not infringed on, openness to other opinions, not believing you have all the answers to every problem.
