David M. Bragg was a circuit court judge for the Sixteenth Circuit Court in Tennessee, and oversaw cases from Rutherford and Cannon counties. He was elected to the court without opposition on August 7, 2008.[1][2] Bragg filled the unexpired term of former Senator Larry Trail, who was elected in 2006 but died prior to taking office. Judge James Clayton served on the court prior to Bragg's election.[3] Bragg was re-elected to the court on August 7, 2014. [4][5] In October 2020, Bragg announced his retirement effective January 1, 2021. [6]

General: He defeated Nathan Nichols in the general election on August 7, 2014, receiving 53.7 percent of the vote. [4][5]

Education

Bragg received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, his master's degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and his J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law in 1994.[2]

Career

Bragg worked as an attorney in private practice for fourteen years prior to his judicial election in 2008.[2]
