A measure to make the city treasurer an appointed position instead of an elected one was on the ballot for El Segundo voters in Los Angeles County, California, on March 3, 2020.[1] It was approved.
A "yes" vote supported making the city treasurer an appointed position, with the officeholder appointed by the city council, beginning after March 3, 2020. |
A "no" vote opposed making the city treasurer an appointed position beginning after March 3, 2020, thereby keeping the position as an elected office. |
A simple majority was required for the approval of Measure T.
Going into the election, the city clerk and city treasurer in the city of El Segundo were elected offices. Other city officers and department heads were appointed by the city council.
