Eric Haner is a judge of the Kentucky 30th Circuit Court 1st Division. He assumed office on July 1, 2021. His current term ends on January 6, 2031.
Haner ran for re-election for judge of the Kentucky 30th Circuit Court 1st Division. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Haner received his undergraduate degree from Villanova University in 1991 and his J.D. from the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law in 1994.[1] Haner began his career as a criminal and civil litigator in 1994. He started his own law firm in 2008. In 2013, he was appointed to the 30th District Court.[2]

Primary: He was successful in the primary on May 20, 2014, receiving 35.2 percent of the vote. He competed against James Michael Green and Charles J. Adkins.
General: He defeated James Michael Green in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 56.5 percent of the vote.

The judges of the Kentucky District Courts are elected in nonpartisan elections. They serve four-year terms and must run for re-election if they wish to serve again.[5][6]
Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:[5]
- a U.S. citizen;
- a resident of the represented district for at least two years; and
- licensed to practice law for at least two years.
