The Illinois "Marsy's Law" Amendment, known as Marsy's Law for Illinois, did not make the November 2012 ballot in Illinois as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The measure would have expanded and increased the enforcement of rights for crime victims and their families when participating in criminal justice proceedings. The measure was sponsored by Representative Lou Lang.[1]

To qualify for the 2012 ballot, the measure required a 60% vote approval by both the House and the Senate.
