Karen Whatley is an officeholder of the Arkansas 6th Judicial Circuit Division 7. She assumed office on March 1, 2022. Her term ended on December 31, 2024.

She was appointed to the court on January 26, 2022 by Governor Asa Hutchinson to replace Barry Sims.[1]
Education
Whatley earned her B.A. at Arkansas Tech University and her law degree at University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to serving as a judge, Whatley was Governor Hutchinson's Chief Legal Counsel. She also previously served as his Director of Legislative and Agency Affairs. She practiced in the litigation department of Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard for four years. Prior to that, she also served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Arkansas for 13 years.[1]
