What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
Public Safety - I will work closely with each of these departments to make sure they are adequately staffed, so their response times will be better than the national average. Mental Health Crisis - I will restore the Mobile Outreach Team by adding back night shifts, and work in conjunction with this team to help respond to our depression and opioid crisis. Reduce County Debt Ratio - Increase competition on big-ticket items to keep costs low.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Mental Health is the number one health issue in our county and we need to address this head on. In Williamson County we have an award-winning department that handles mental health situations- the Mobile Outreach Team (MOT). They are especially adept at crisis situations. This department has recently been stripped of their overnight staff and I plan to bring the night shift back and help this team get the resources they need. The school districts rely heavily on these trained professionals, and we need to have the ability to help every student, especially in the current times.
