Kirk Troen is a veteran, business owner, community volunteer, educator, hard-working taxpayer, and devoted dad.

Kirk proudly served our nation in the United States Marine Corps.

Nothing has ever been handed to Kirk. He learned about hard work at an early age. Kirk was the first member of his family to graduate from college. After a semester of juggling a full-time job and school, Kirk enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and went to school on the GI Bill.

Understanding the importance of education, Kirk eventually earned an Associate of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree, and two Master of Science degrees.

After serving our nation, Kirk continued his public service by teaching music in a middle school for 4 years. He was elected to the Prince William County Education Association Board of Directors and served as a teacher mentor.

In 2004, he opened his own business that produced music events, including a music festival held at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Presently, he is the managing director for Super Holiday Tours.

Over his lifetime, Kirk has been involved in numerous charitable organizations helping raise funds. Being involved has been in his fabric since he was very young. Most recently, he has supported the Wounded Warfighter Lone Sailor and Wake for Warriors.

It is now time to be a part of the solution of fixing Washington and stopping inadequate representation.
  • We need to reform the Immigration system to allow only those that cross legally into the country.
  • Medicare for All is a proposal that will eliminate private health care for 150 million Americans
  • We cannot accept socialist ideology. This will destroy our economy and way of life.
The quote "no one is above the law" is rampant among Democrats. We need policies that enforce all laws on all that violate the law. Crossing the border at a point other than a port of entry is breaking the law, working under an assumed social security number is breaking the law, not cooperating with ICE and the Border Patrol is breaking the law. But all of these are laws that some politicians want to ignore and let the law breakers become "above the law".
I look up to many Marine leaders that are both historical figures and those that I served with. They all served with honor, integrity and a passion for America and it's people. I would like to follow in those leaders footsteps and make a mark on helping promote the American Dream.
Leadership and Empathy are critical for a successful representative. A good representative must be able to work and coordinate many people from different backgrounds, religious beliefs, and ethnicities. We have to come together as Americans and work for the common goal of happiness and success. While working towards these goals, we have to be able to empathize with people of different economic and cultural backgrounds. Understanding is key to good leadership.
I am a successful and strong leader that is capable of bringing people together to accomplish the goals and desires of the group. I am a patriot that has a dedication to this country that only Marines possess.
Listening to what the constituents want, while balancing the differing opinions to come up with solutions that include every "side" of the issue. We cannot alienate a group of people because their opinions differ from our own.
One of leadership and accomplishment making life better for those that I serve.
My first memory is watching my sister learn to drive when I was six. She couldn't master the clutch and thus could not get out of the driveway.
My first job was at age 11 delivering the morning newspaper. I worked every morning without exception for two years.
The Four Hour Work Week. It gave insights of how people can be productive and incredibly resourceful by just putting some thought into the daily routine.
Connecting on a deep personal level with others. I tend to keep my personal feelings to myself, and do not share my personal struggles with others. My outlook is positive and optimistic, so in times of personal conflict or emotion, I keep those feelings close.
It is the branch of Congress that allows for every person in every state to have a voice in the direction of the Nation. The Representatives elected to the House represent smaller populations and are able to speak to a vast number of constituents personally.
No, however I believe that it is very beneficial for representatives to have much needed leadership experience and a variety of local and national levels.
The greatest challenges appear to be getting politicians to listen to their constituents and doing the work of the country. If that occured, major issues such as mental health, immigration, foreign policy and economic growth could be pointed in the right direction without partisan bickering and politicians dictating what is best for Americans.
I would like to be on the Armed Services Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Yes I do, and I also believe that there should be term limits of four terms.
If the President is restricted to eight years, then so should the rest of Congress. Too long in these positions and politicians become dictators to their districts and do not listen to their constituents. Additionally, there should be no retirement or lifetime benefits for serving only a few years.
