An effort to recall city council members Nathan Small, Gill Sorg and Olga Pedroza in Las Cruces, New Mexico from their positions was launched in November 2014.[1] The recall against Small was supposedly dropped on December 3.[2] Petitions were later in turned in against all three.[3] The three campaigns did not go to a vote after supporters did not turn in enough signatures to move the recall forward.[4]
Recall proponent arguments
The officials are targeted for recall over allegations of the influence of special interests.[1]

Supporters had 60 days to gather signatures equal to 10 percent of the residents in each council member's district.[1] Signatures against all three were turned in on February 6. These were accompanied by complaints of misrepresentation of the petitions.[3] Supporters did not collect enough valid signatures to move the recall forward.[4]
A group turned in 400 more signatures against Sorg on March 27, 2015, in an attempt to get the recall on the ballot.[5] That attempt was rejected by a judge.[6]
