I grew up in Trenton and have been a Trenton resident for 42 years. My husband, Brandon, and I have two children attending both Anderson and Arthurs Middle School.

I have a vested interest in the success and progress of Trenton Public Schools. I am a graduate of Trenton Public Schools and have gone on to earn a degree in Child Development from Central Michigan, another degree for Secondary Education from Eastern Michigan University, and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Western Governors University. I am also currently pursuing additional certification in Special Education while teaching in Flat Rock. It is a testament to the amazing teachers I had at Trenton Public Schools that I was inspired to persue a teaching career myself. My dedication to education and community involvement has been apparent in my 19 years as an educator, leader, coach and a community partner.

I have served on the Trenton School Board since 2018 as trustee, treasurer, vice-president and president.
  • I take pride in Trenton Public Schools...as a Trenton graduate, a longtime resident of Trenton, and a mother of 2 children attending Trenton Schools. I have a long-term, vested interest in the success of our schools. My educational background and experience as a teacher and leader will allow me to be the best support to our students, teachers, staff and administrators in making Trenton schools competitive in education and continue to be the growing district it should be. Education of our youth takes a whole community of people and I would like to make my contribution by serving another few years on the School Board. I believe all of our kids should receive a 21st century, quality, high-ranking educational opportunity.
  • I have 3+ degrees in the field of education. I have 19 years of teaching experience. I have been a participant in this community as a parent, neighbor, and leader. My commitment to educational excellence is the reason that I am running for School Board. Having knowledge of what teachers, administrators and staff deal with on a day to day basis in the school buildings allows me to give valid and educated input to crucial conversations about challenges that Trenton Public Schools will face in the upcoming years. I feel that the mixture of my experience as a teacher and parent is a key link to my service on the school board.
  • Competing with other local schools has made student enrollment a common battle for every district. I have supported the action items that have made sure we are providing competitive education to those surrounding districts who are currently growing (21st century skills, trades, fine arts, after-school opportunities, preschool, assistance to parents). We need to continue to offer diverse programs that attract families to make TPS their school of choice and that keep our students who live in the district by offering everything they want. It is also important to me that we continue to make sure we have amazing staff who feel supported, validated and rewarded for their contributions to making TPS a destination district.
Our bond and taxpayer funded revenue should support 21st century programs, student job training opportunities, cyber education, and programs to make us a competitive school of choice to attract and maintain our current students. With proper funding we will continue to focus on class sizes in every school because that is the number one predictor of student success. I support education that extends beyond our walls and puts money back into the pockets of our students in their near future (like trade school, consortium, dual enrollment credits, career opportunities and scholarship opportunities). I am committed to making the Trenton Public Schools a source of pride for the community and a model for other districts.
Having the abilitiy to react to information by first looking into facts and then gathering data, and finally, contributing to the conversation.
My ability to remain impartial while looking for facts on topics.
