My name is Matthew Vogel, and I am excited to introduce myself as a candidate for Mayor of the City of Hinckley in the upcoming election.

I'm a proud Minnesota native. I'm married to Victoria Vogel and we parents to our beautiful daughter Leah.

  • Attracting businesses and entrepreneurs to invest in the city.
  • Securing additional economic development opportunities
  • Finding solutions on how we can better maintain our infrastructure and roads
Economic Development and Infrastructure Investment
Honesty, integrity, transparency, a collaborative leader that takes input from the residents.
I'm someone that is eager to engage and collaborate with others on solutions that benefit everyone. I'm invested in the community with the local Disabled American Veterans chapter and I want to take a more active role serving the community.
Key core responsibility is to represent the community especially with any policy/decision making.
A mayor provides guidance for the city with a vision/goal for the future. A mayor cannot only work on the current issues .
The mayor must develop relationship with everyone of the city full time staff and have an understanding of duties and responsibilities of each person. Building trust with any organization is key.
As an outdoor enthusiast I enjoy the nature and trails the city offers. It's a small town that's growing and will continue to grow.
City budget with current tax base also funding uncertainties for local government assistance and factoring for how to allocate those funds
It would be a partnership bettering the lives of the community. We would work towards applying for any and all grants/assistance the city qualifies.
The city will be actively working and seeking out partnerships with government agencies, for example the USDA and connect them with residents that are eligible for home improvement grants.
A relationship of trust and respect. The clear expectation that law enforcement is there to protect and serve.

We don't have a city policy department and rely on the county to provide the services.
Every cent should be accounted for and accessible for anyone to view.
