Recall supporters

Anson Bie joined former councilmembers Ted Kotsakis and Steve Owen in filing the notice of intent to recall with state elections officials on June 3, 2016. Kotsakis told the Portland Tribune that there were other community members who were frustrated with the council's decisions on issues facing the city.[1]

Recall opponents

Bejarana told the Portland Tribune that he was not aware of why the recall effort was started, but suggested that Kotsakis was trying to rejoin the board after stepping down in the middle of his first term in 2015. Tosterud and Tlustos-Arnold did not provide public comment by June 6, 2016.[1]
