Resident Robert Leckband initiated the recall effort after the firing of the town's police chief, Robert Baker.[3] Petitions said the officials were "not governing for the best interest of the majority of the citizens of powers."[1]
Recall opponents
Kohn responded to the recall effort. He said, "Everything I do is for the city of Powers. I get no personal benefit out of anything that I do. I'm retired, I don't have a business interest in town so that’s just pure nonsense."[1]
