It's time that we addressed this issue. "Seniors Count" Legislation The number of citizens over the age of 85 will more than double over the next 10 years. Our current senior citizens are not adequately being cared for. One out of every five senior citizen will struggle with hunger. Many are unable to afford prescriptions pills. We lack a public transportation system to get them to their medical visits. We must start treating our elders with the respect they need and deserve. Right to Work is WRONG A thriving working class is the key to a healthy and sustainable economy. The research is out and it paints a grim picture for RTW states. Here are some of the negative impacts from this kind of legislation:
Get Money Out of Politics Missouri has arguably the worst campaign finance laws in the country. There are no contribution limits on local races. This makes local races a fundraising competition instead of a voter outreach competition. It also makes it incredibly difficult to perform your civic duty when your entire campaign is funded by special interests. We need contribution limits at worst and spending limits at best.[2] |
