Michael F. Marmo is a senior judge of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania.

Education

Marmo received an undergraduate degree in political science and history and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and a law degree from Duquesne University.[1]

Career

After graduating law school in 1993, Marmo began a private practice, which lasted until 2009, when he was appointed to the Court of Common Pleas to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Robert Horgos.[2] In addition, he has served as an adjunct professor at the Duquesne University School of Law and Allegheny Community College.[3]

2011

Marmo competed against several opponents in the primary election on May 17. He cross-filed with the Republican and Democratic parties and won the highest percentage of votes in both primaries, 29.1% and 24.5%, respectively. Because he was competing for one of two open seats, he advanced to the general election.[4][5] Marmo was elected to his first full term after running unopposed on November 8, 2011.[6]

Bar association rating

He received a rating of "recommended" from the Allegheny County Bar Association.[7]
