Mike Steinberg
Mike Steinberg was a 2014 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 9th Congressional District of North Carolina.[1] Steinberg was defeated by incumbent Robert Pittenger in the Republican primary on May 6, 2014.[2]
Steinberg was previously a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 9th Congressional District of North Carolina.[3] Because no candidate received more than 40% of the vote in the Republican primary election on May 8, 2012 a runoff primary took place.[4] Steinberg was eliminated in the May 8, 2012, primary.

2012
Steinberg ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent North Carolina's 9th District. Steinberg sought the nomination on the Republican ticket. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run was February 29, 2012. Steinberg challenged incumbent Rep. Sue Myrick (R) in the May 8, 2012 primary. Because no candidate received more than 40% of the vote in the Republican primary election on May 8, 2012 a runoff primary took place.[4] Steinber was eliminated in the May 8, 2012, primary.
The Washington Post listed the House of Representatives elections in North Carolina in 2012 as one of the 10 states that could have determined whether Democrats would retake the House or if Republicans would hold their majority in 2013.[5] North Carolina was rated 8th on the list.[5]
