Minnesota Exempted Property, Amendment 2 (1888)

The Minnesota Exempted Property Amendment, also known as Amendment 2, was on the November 6, 1888 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure provided that property that was exempted from seizure for payment of debts be liable for seizure for any debts incurred to any person for work done or materials furnished in the construction, repair or improvement of same. The measure also provided that seizure of property extends to any debt incurred to any laborer or servant for labor or service performed.[1]
