“ | Question No. 2. Shall—Senate Joint Resolution No. 4 of the 54th Session (1967), approved by the 55th Session (1969), proposing to amend Sec. 9 of Art. 2 of the Constitution of the State of Nevada, relating to the recall of public officers, by repealing provisions governing the number and qualification of petitioners required to recall public officers and providing that the number of petitioners required to recall public officers be not less than 25 percent of the registered voters who actually voted at the last general election, be approved? | ” |

Path to the ballot

A simple majority vote is required during two successive legislative sessions for the Nevada State Legislature to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot. That amounts to a minimum of 22 votes in the Nevada State Assembly and 11 votes in the Nevada State Senate, assuming no vacancies. Amendments do not require the governor's signature to be referred to the ballot.
