Primary: She was successful in the Republican primary on June 3, 2014, receiving 55.7 percent of the vote. She competed against John Cecil Wheeler.
General: She defeated Virginia L. Jones in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 61.5 percent of the vote. [1][2]
