An effort to recall Ray Woodruff from his position as Central Oregon Coast Fire and Rescue District Board Chair in Lincoln County, Ore., was launched in 2016. The recall petition was certified by the county on June 17, 2016. Woodruff decided to resign instead of face the recall. He retired "in order to spare the district the expense of a frivolous (special) election."[1]
