Recall reports

An effort to recall Richard Conlin from his position on the city council of Seattle in King County, Washington was blocked by a judge in July 2011.[1] Conlin is the president of the city council.

Recall supporters

Seattle Citizens Against the Tunnel, led by Elizabeth Campbell, launched the recall effort. Conlin was accused of working to block the tunnel referendum from appearing on the August 16 primary ballot.[2]

Path to the ballot

On May 31, recall organizers filed a recall petition targeting Conlin.[3] In July 2011, judge Carol Schapira ruled that there were not sufficient grounds for the recall effort to move forward.[1] According to the laws governing recall in Washington, petitioners must prove that recall targets committed malfeasance while in office.
