I grew up in Texas, where I was active in the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating, I began my military service at Fort Benning. I completed Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course and Airborne School, then was assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord in 2011. I deployed as a Platoon Leader to Afghanistan; partnered with village elders to open schools and medical facilities; and patrolled with Afghan partners against the Taliban insurgency. My military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. Following my military career, I became a proud first-time homeowner in Lynnwood in 2018. I also earned my Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington. I currently work in the retirement industry, protecting the retirement savings for union and non-union workers as well as their families. Prior to joining the City Council this year, I served on the Lynnwood Planning Commission, where I was involved in the city’s Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Code updates. Today, I serve as Council Liaison to our DEI Commission and our Parks and Recreation Board. This year I also earned my Certificate of Municipal Leadership. I am also a founding member of the Abundance Elected Network, a group of nationwide elected officials focused on helping government work more effectively to improve people’s lives. I have volunteered at organizations like Mary's Place and Clean the World.
  • I was honored to be appointed to the Lynnwood City Council, and I’m working hard to earn your vote in November. I’m committed to restoring public trust in city government and delivering real solutions to the challenges we face. Our city is grappling with a $20+ million budget crisis, a rising cost of living, and ongoing concerns around public health and safety. Too many residents feel unheard, and too many are being left behind. You deserve a city that’s inclusive, responsive, and a responsible steward of your taxpayer dollars. As a resident, a Planning Commissioner, and now Council member, I’ve spent years advocating for Lynnwood because I believe in our potential. I will ensure your voice is heard and your priorities are acted on.
  • Like many in Lynnwood, I come from a working-class family: healthcare workers, teachers, and union workers. I worked minimum-wage jobs through high school and college before joining the military. I rented for thirteen years, so I know firsthand the challenges of rising rents—having to move frequently, struggling to put down roots, and sharing space with multiple roommates just to make ends meet. I have also seen the toll that mental health struggles can take. Losing family members to suicide has deepened my commitment to expanding mental health support and ensuring easy access to quality healthcare. Friends and family who are LGBTQ+ have reinforced my belief that Lynnwood must be a place where everyone is truly welcome.
  • I bring a unique blend of public and private sector experience to the Lynnwood City Council, having led complex projects and initiatives across the globe. I am the only candidate and current council member who is a combat veteran, and I’m ready to keep fighting for the people of Lynnwood with the same dedication I brought to my military service. My experiences in uniform, in business, and in community service have all strengthened my commitment to protecting our community, our shared values, and our democratic institutions. I believe government should reflect the best of who we are as Americans and be a force for good in people’s lives. That’s the standard I hold myself to and the approach I will continue to bring to the Council.
I am a committed housing advocate : everyone deserves a place to live. No one should be priced out of their community. I will expand affordable housing options for seniors, renters facing displacement, and working families striving to stay rooted here.

I am passionate about making Lynnwood a city that is truly welcoming and accessible to everyone. I believe in mobility with dignity. Let's reinvest in our streets and sidewalks to be safer and more accessible to residents regardless of age or ability.

Everyone deserves to be safe. I will advocate for strong public health and law enforcement funding, as well as community-oriented policing and health resources. Together we can help build trust, prevent harm, and ensure everyone feels secure.
City Council is perhaps the most accessible level of government for voters and residents to interact with or share their concerns. City government impacts people's lives every day -- for good or bad.
Acting ethically and always in the public's best interest. Making decisions based on data, hearing from all sides, being willing to vigorously debate an issue in order to make the best decisions for voters.
City Councilmembers need to be focused on the interests of all residents - those living in the city today, but also for those who will someday in the future make Lynnwood their home. That means we can't ignore the city's long-term responsibilities and obligations. City Council needs to help ensure the city meets residents' expectations for good roads, maintained utilities, responsive emergency responders, and great parks.
State Senators Jesse Salomon and Marko Liias; State Representative Strom Peterson; Snohomish County Councilmember Jared Mead; Snohomish County Democrats, 21st and 32nd Legislative District Democrats; VoteVets; Lynnwood Police Guild
I've had a chance to meet and hear from people who struggled with addictions or mental health struggles, and were able to overcome those challenges. In many cases, resources provided through the city or regional organizations played a significant role in their recovery. These are powerful stories that reinforce the importance of investing in our community and helping our neighbors.
