Primary: He was defeated in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 14.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Paul S. Carroll, John F. Hall, and incumbent Judges Carville D. Duncan and William J. Howard. Primary candidates competed for 3 seats.
