Ronny Harrison Richards was a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Ohio.[1] Richards was defeated in the Democratic primary by William Smith.
Richards was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Ohio. Richards lost in the Democratic primary to Marek Tyszkiewicz.
Biography
Richards served as a Combat Medic during the Vietnam War. He worked in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry and was Chapter Secretary of AFSCME/OCSEA Chapter 7310.[2]

2016
Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Brad Wenstrup (R) defeated William Smith (D) and Janet Everhard (D write-in) in the general election. Wenstrup defeated Jim Lewis in the Republican primary. Smith defeated Russ Hurley and Ronny Harrison Richards in the Democratic primary on March 15, 2016.[1]

Richards ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Ohio's 2nd District. Richards sought the Democratic nomination in the primary, but was defeated by Marek Tyszkiewicz.[4]
