McCarron earned a B.A. in elementary education and writing arts from Rowan University in 2004. He holds two master's degrees: an M.A. in school administration from Rowan University and an M.S. in curriculum, instruction and assessment from Walden University. He earned an Ed.D. in educational leadership from Rowan University in 2011.[1]

McCarron is the school business administrator and board secretary for the Runnemede Borough School District. Prior this position, he was a teacher in Vineland Public Schools and an assistant principal in Fairfield Township School District.[1]

Three seats on the Vineland Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbents Eugene Medio, Diamaris Rios and Tom Ulrich all had expiring terms, but Ulrich did not run for re-election. Medio and Rios were joined on the ballot by Kimberly L. Codispoti, Sean R. McCarron, Joseph Pagano, Anthony Rizzo and Jason Scalzi. Codispoti, Pagano and Scalzi ran as a slate.[2]
