My husband and I have lived in Cheney for more than 20 years, where we raised our two kids. Much of our time here has been spent cheering from the sidelines at youth sports and activities. Now, our oldest is at the University of Montana—our alma mater—and our youngest attends EWU. We love living in a college town and enjoy supporting EWU sports and campus events. We also take full advantage of the nearby lakes and camping spots that make this area such a great place to live.

At home, I have a two-year-old Bernedoodle named Remi, who I adore. Every day, you’ll find us out walking through Cheney’s neighborhoods and parks, usually early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Professionally, I’ve worked in the non-profit sector for more than 20 years, all with the same organization. I feel grateful to be part of work that is both meaningful and high impact, and to do it in an environment that values family and flexibility.
  • My husband and I have lived here for over 20 years and raised our children in this community. I understand the opportunities and challenges that come with calling Cheney home.
  • With more than 20 years working in the nonprofit sector, I’ve learned the importance of collaboration, accountability, and family-centered values in creating meaningful impact.
  • I believe the people of Cheney know best what the priorities and solutions should be. My role is to listen, learn, and work alongside neighbors to move our community forward.
I care about policies that strengthen our neighborhoods and make Cheney a safe, welcoming place for families, students, and longtime residents. I care about supporting smart growth that balances community needs, and ensuring that residents’ voices are heard in decisions that affect them. I also value policies that improve quality of life—whether that’s through recreation, local services, or partnerships with EWU that build on the strengths of being a college town.
The Cheney City Council is important because it’s the part of government that’s closest to the people. The decisions made by the city council impact our everyday lives. What makes it unique is that council members live right here in the community, so they can listen directly to our neighbors and make sure their voices guide the choices made for Cheney’s future.
Authenticity, transparency, and listening to understand. I believe that you are accountable to the people who elected you. This doesn't mean that you can control decisions- but, you can influence by sharing people's perspectives and advocating for things that have the largest positive impact on the community.
To live into the characteristics mentioned above. Practically, this translates to having conversations, understanding issues thoroughly, and communicating clearly.
No, I think that varied experiences, personally and professionally, make for the strongest teams that make the best decisions.
This role requires the ability to understand and prioritize community needs, and to budget and spend resources responsibly.
Balancing parenting and family in a way I feel good about while building a successful career. I am so grateful for an employer who supports these values.
