Approach to the law

Regarding his judicial philosophy:

Our Courts are challenged to make access to justice a high priority for everyone in the legal system. This is not just about finding affordable legal representation. We must provide timely hearings for all cases; prompt resolution of disputes; and simplify complex legal documents that can prevent self-representation in court even on routine matters. I will leverage technologies such as online collaboration, paperless transactions, online conferencing, and calendar systems to make the best use of everyone’s time. I will work to bring those economical technologies so common in private practice and the business world to the court system.[5][8]
—Steven Antolak

Regarding the reason he chose to run for election:

I believe in service to our community and I want to continue that service as a judge. I have volunteered for the Human Rights Commission and Planning Commission in Brooklyn Park, and many county and local citizen task forces. I served two school boards and as Commissioner for the Three Rivers Park District. My life experience and public service has prepared me to be a district court judge. Volunteering in the community, particularly in areas outside my profession, has brought me closer to others in need and developed greater capacity for compassion in me. Service has taught me the importance of patience and humility. It has fed a natural hunger for justice and equality. My service as a Judge would reflect these values.[5][8]
