Velia Miranda is a judge of the Grant County Probate Court in New Mexico. She was elected to the court in November 2010, and took office the following January.[1] She was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[2]

Miranda ran for re-election to the Grant County Probate Court.
Primary: She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 3, 2014.
General: She was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014. [2][3] 

2010

Miranda defeated Benny G. Montes, Joeadam Gallegos and Frances M. Vasquez in the Democratic primary, winning 32% of the vote. She then defeated Patrick Kennedy in the general election, winning 53.9% of the vote to the probate court.[1]

Miranda has a high school education.[4]

Career

Prior to joining the court, Miranda worked for the district court clerk's office.[4]
