West Virginia Amendment 1 was on the November 5, 1996, election ballot in West Virginia as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved.
According to the National Conference on State Legislatures, Amendment 1 "requires that hunting and fishing license revenues be used for wildlife management, including the acquisition of property for fish and wildlife management."[1]
