Aston ran for election to the 127th District Court, but was defeated by fellow Republican Russell Lloyd in the primary election. Lloyd will compete against incumbent R.K. Sandill in the general election.

For eight years I was the Administrator of Elections for Harris County, serving over 2.5 million registered voters, Currently, I am general counsel to Senator Paul Bettencourt as well as focusing on governmental relations, election integrity, and general counsel for small businesses.
