Ewing earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and criminal justice and a master's degree in urban studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His professional experience includes work as a police officer, an associate minister at Salem Baptist Church, and an adjunct professor of leadership at the University of Nebraska's School of Public Administration.[3]
