Biography
Atkinson works in the field of commercial insurance. She was also the 2015 President of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce. Atkinson has lived in Charlotte County for 11 years.[1]

Two of the five seats on the Charlotte County Public Schools Board of Education were up for by-district primary election on August 30, 2016. Kim Amontree defeated fellow newcomers Robert Dolar and Joseph Williams for the District 2 seat. Wendy Atkinson won the District 5 seat in the primary against David Morris.[2] The District 3 seat was originally set to be on the ballot, but when incumbent Bob Segur was unopposed in his bid for re-election at the passing of the filing deadline, the election for the seat was canceled and Segur was automatically re-elected.
