Brenda Locklear was a candidate for the District 3 seat on the Robeson County school board in North Carolina. She was defeated in the general election on May 6, 2014.
Biography
Locklear is a is a native of Robeson County who lives in Shannon. She earned a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Sociology from Fayetteville State University. Locklear was employed by the Robeson County Schools for more than 38 years as a library and classroom assistant, teacher and assistant principal. During her time at Rex-Rennert school, she served as lead teacher and chairperson of the school improvement team. She was a member of the Robeson County Association of Educators and North Carolina Association of Educators. Locklear was also employed by Robeson Community College as an adult basic education teacher. She is married with two daughters and three grandchildren.[1]
