Katherine L. Dawson is a former Position 3 trustee on the Spring Branch Independent School District Board of Trustees in Texas. Elected to her first term in 2012, she won re-election to a second term in the general election on May 9, 2015. She did not seek re-election in 2018.
Biography
Dawson graduated from Stratford High School in Spring Branch ISD in 1986. She earned a B.S. in political science with a minor in business analysis and research and a B.A. in history from Texas A&M University at College Station in 1990. She went on to earn an M.Ed. in elementary education from the University of Houston.[1]
Dawson returned to Spring Branch ISD and worked as an elementary teacher in the district. Prior to becoming a teacher, she was a library administrator and public affairs specialist for the Houston branch of the Federal Reserve Bank.[2][3]
Dawson is married and has three children.[1]

2015
Two of the seven seats on the Spring Branch Board of Trustees were up for election on May 9, 2015. Position 3 incumbent Katherine Dawson faced challenger Craig Adams in her re-election bid, and Position 4 incumbent Chris Vierra faced challenger Virginia Elizondo.[4]
The two incumbents defeated their respective challengers and retained their seats for another term.
