Katherine L. Dawson is a former Position 3 trustee on the Spring Branch Independent School District Board of Trustees in Texas. Elected to her first term in 2012, she won re-election to a second term in the general election on May 9, 2015. She did not seek re-election in 2018.

Dawson graduated from Stratford High School in Spring Branch ISD in 1986. She earned a B.S. in political science with a minor in business analysis and research and a B.A. in history from Texas A&M University at College Station in 1990. She went on to earn an M.Ed. in elementary education from the University of Houston.

Dawson returned to Spring Branch ISD and worked as an elementary teacher in the district. Prior to becoming a teacher, she was a library administrator and public affairs specialist for the Houston branch of the Federal Reserve Bank.

Dawson is married and has three children.

Two of the seven seats on the Spring Branch Board of Trustees were up for election on May 9, 2015. Position 3 incumbent Katherine Dawson faced challenger Craig Adams in her re-election bid, and Position 4 incumbent Chris Vierra faced challenger Virginia Elizondo.
