Primary: She ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 3, 2014.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 16.4 percent of the vote. She competed against Christopher A. Baca. [1][2]

Ballard received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.[3]
