|- The cost of government is too high. Individuals, families, and businesses should keep more of their hard-earned money to invest in their future. When that happens, people flourish and economies grow. I will always fight to keep your taxes low and the government budget lean.
- One of my top priorities will be the functional consolidation of county government and its services. It’s time we look at how we modernize government. I will work collaboratively to find other revenue sources to relieve the dependence on property tax income and focus on functional consolidation where we can improve services and lower cost. We need to take a detailed inventory of every service to see where there are redundancies and inefficiencies that can be streamlined and updated to better serve our residents. This won’t be done unilaterally, of course. We will need broad collaboration with county employees, residents, and outlying elected officials to find success.
- I want to use my business experience to promote policies that will bring more economic opportunity to District 3 and Sedgwick County more broadly. A strong local economy is key to a flourishing community. And people create growing economies, not government. I am a leader who understands that difference.
1. Integrity: Honesty and strong moral principles are vital. Officials should act transparently and be accountable for their actions.
2. Leadership: The ability to inspire and guide others, make decisions, and take responsibility for those decisions is crucial.
3. Empathy: Understanding the needs and concerns of constituents fosters trust and allows for more responsive governance.
4. Communication Skills: Effective communication is essential for conveying ideas, policies, and concerns clearly and persuasively.
5. Commitment to Public Service: A genuine desire to serve the public and improve the community is fundamental.
6. Vision: A clear and realistic vision for the future helps in setting goals and strategies for the community's development.
7. Collaboration: The ability to work with others, including different political parties and community groups, is important for effective governance.
8. Problem-Solving Skills: The capacity to analyze issues and develop practical solutions is crucial in addressing the challenges faced by constituents.
9. Adaptability: Being open to change and able to adjust to new circumstances and information is essential in a dynamic political environment.
