Brandon Ewing is an at-large representative on the Waukegan Public School District 60 school board in Illinois. Ewing won a first term in the at-large general election on April 4, 2017.

Six seats on the Waukegan Public School District 60 school board were up for general election on April 4, 2017. Board members Anita Hanna and Michael Rodriguez won additional terms on the board and were joined in their victory by Jeff McBride and Brandon Ewing. They defeated board member Victoria Torres and newcomers Edward Kindle, Harlene Ricks Shipley, Margaret Carrasco, Anthony Johnson, Tommy Rhyan, Alonzo Jenkins, and Porfirio Garcia for four four-year terms.[1] Incumbents Miguel Rivera and Charlotte Wozniak ran for election to the remainder of unexpired two-year terms without opposition. Rivera was appointed to a vacancy in March 2016, while Wozniak was appointed to the board in July 2016.[2][3]

School board candidates in Illinois were required to file campaign finance reports if they did one or both of the following:[4]

  • Accepted contributions or made disbursements in an aggregate amount of more than $5,000 during the calendar year
  • Accepted contributions or made disbursements in an aggregate amount of more than $5,000 during the calendar year for communication via television, radio, or internet in support of or in opposition to a candidate, political party, or public policy

The first campaign finance deadline was February 27, 2017, and the second campaign finance deadline was April 3, 2017.[5]

Ewing reported no contributions or expenditures to the Illinois State Board of Elections as of March 2, 2017.[6]
