Ewell ran in the 2012 election for Tennessee State Senate District 18. Ewell ran against Jeff Coker, Ferrell Haile, and Tony Allers in the Republican primary on August 2, 2012. Maria A. Brewer ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.[1]
