Clarence John was an at-large representative on the Hazleton Area School District school board in Pennsylvania. He was first elected to the board in 2009 and won for re-election in a general election on November 5, 2013. He did not seek an additional term in 2017.

John ran against Bob Mehalick, James Chapman, Carmella Yenkevich, and Jared M. O'Donnell for four open seats on the board on November 5, 2013. John cross-filed in the May 21, 2013, primary and won both nominations.
