Maritza Martinez
Maritza Martinez (Democratic Party) is a judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. She assumed office on December 1, 2014. Her current term ends on December 7, 2026.
Martinez ran for re-election for judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. She won in the retention election on November 3, 2020.
Education
Martinez earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University in Chicago and her J.D. from the Loyola University School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to her judicial election, Martinez had been a trial attorney for 24 years. She also served as commissioner at the Illinois Court of Claims, where she presided over claims brought against the State of Illinois.[1]
