|Lynda worked closely with tribal nations, youth and the under-served. She values the wisdom of community voices and those who have a close relationship with the land. Protecting the environment is my life’s work. I am the only candidate with field experience spanning 37-years in environmental science, including 20 at the US-EPA, policy experience as Mayor, founder and director of Contra Costa Climate Leaders. The only candidate with 5+ years’ service as a Parks Advisory Commissioner. I have a deep understanding of current challenges: fire, algal blooms, sea level rise, and the urgency to act now. I have managed large balanced budgets for soil-contaminated cleanups and community “Right-to-Know” programs.
As an advocate, I fought for settlement dollars for tribes and communities affected by toxic harms. I will fight for an equitable workforce and programs that serve the diverse communities. Endorsed by the California Democratic Party, current and former Mayors, elected officials, union leaders and environmental organizations.- Lynda is the only Scientist in this race. The only candidate with in the field experience, 20 years at the USEPA and only candidate with elected experience as a Former Mayor and councilmember.
- Lynda has been a trusted voice on the East Bay Regional Park District Parks Advisory Committee for the past 6 years.
- Our parks district is the largest in the nation, it is suffering from the pressues of climate change and increase in users, we need a climate resilience plan, and that is what Lynda has the experience to provide to help protect our parks for future generations to enjoy!
