Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.

I am a working mom, a hairstylist with a finger on the pulse of the community. I've spoken with hundreds of parents in my work, in my community activism, and in raising my son alongside fellow New Orleans parents and children. These conversations have made it clear that my generation's parents are uncertain about the quality and stability of their children's education here in New Orleans. When I saw an opening in my District 2 School Board, I knew that we could no longer leave it up to chance that a candidate would step up and guide New Orleans schools with commitment to children, parents, and teachers. I am that candidate and I am asking for your vote as a parent striving to deliver strong educational outcomes to every member of the New Orleans and District 2 community.
  • Inclusive & Holistic Education: I believe quality education should be accessible to all New Orleans families regardless of income, disability, or background. I advocate for safe and supportive educational environments that foster students' physical and emotional well-being, preparing them for success in the twenty-first century.
  • Support Teachers & Staff I want to ensure fair pay, comprehensive benefits, and strong union support for teachers and staff to reinforce their vital community roles. When pay and working conditions are adequate for teachers, we end the cycle of staff burnout and turnover. This supports long-term teaching roles that allow educators to cultivate their skills and experience to best serve our communities.
  • Accountability & Integrity: I am running to combat corruption and charter school churn. Furthermore, I aim to protect the integrity of public schools by ensuring accountability, and opposing divisive culture-war policies.

"Bananaphone" by Raffi, which brings up something very interesting about that artist that I didn't learn until I was a parent. Raffi believes in, and has formed a non-profit organization around, radical societal transformations centered around the urgent and universal need to promote our children's development.

And, on the musical front, Raffi is one of my favorite kids song authors, especially if you need a break from Baby Shark on repeat!
Translate the diverse needs of the students, parents, and teachers into effective policy
At this time of writing, I have received endorsements from United Teachers of New Orleans, Greater New Orleans AFL-CIO, New Orleans Democratic Socialists of America, and Forum for Equality.
