John Dewane (Michigan judge)
John E. Dewane was a circuit judge for the 2nd Judicial District (Berrien County Trial Court) in Michigan. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Jennifer Granholm on January 24, 2008, to replace former Judge Paul Maloney.[1][2] He was later elected to the court in November 2008.[3] Dewane retired from the bench at the end of his last term, on January 1, 2015.[4]
Education
Dewane received both his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Michigan in 1966 and 1969, respectively.[1]
Career
Dewane worked as a private practice lawyer for thirty-eight years before he was appointed to the court. He was an attorney with the law firm of Dewane, Peterson & Cullitan at the time of that appointment in 2008.[1][2]
