Two DC Associate judges have terms expiring in 2012

Washington, D.C.: Two Associate Judges for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia have terms that expire on November 11, 2012. The District of Columbia Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure has announced that they are both under consideration as candidates for re-appointment to their current positions. According to the rules laid out for the Commission:
"If the Tenure Commission finds the judge “well qualified” the judge’s term is automatically extended for fifteen years. If the Commission finds the judge “unqualified” the judge is ineligible for reappointment. If the Commission finds the judge “qualified” the President of the United States may, but is not required to, submit the nomination to the Senate for confirmation."[1]
Anita Josey-Herring and John M. Campbell were both appointed to the court in 1997.[2]
